The Falher Pirates are starting to make a mockery of the race for first in the NPHL’s East Division.
Meanwhile, the Grimshaw Huskies continue to be ice cold.
FAL won its ninth straight game after recording an 11-4 thrashing of the hometown Grimshaw Huskies Jan. 4. It gives FAL an 11-point lead in the East over idle MAN.
Dallas Brochu scored three goals, and became the first player in the NPHL this season to hit the 20-goal mark, while Darren Brochu added a pair. Darren Kramer, Trevor Mazurek, Trevor Tokarz, Brennan Waslker, Koltin Caron and Joel Pelletier added the other goals. Pat Rowan added four assists, Kramer and Tokarz three assists each.
GRIM received goals from Spencer Ross, Cole Diewert, Colter Wiebe and Davis Rose.
FAL never trailed, leading 4-1 after one period and 8-3 after two.
FAL also went 2-for-3 on the power play. Combined with their 4-for-6 effort vs MAN the night before, FAL’s PP went 6-for-9 over two games.
GRIM has now lost nine of 10 games after a hot 4-0-1-0 start.
FAL has won all five meetings with GRIM this season but had to forfeit the first game.
