History shows FAL-GP series is up for grabs

Tied 1-1, it is not surprising to learn that the playoff history involving the Falher Pirates and Grande Prairie Athletics shows it is anybody’s series.
Grande Prairie looks to reverse an alarming trend when they resume their NPHL Semi-Final series against the Falher Pirates Tuesday night.

NPHL.com research reveals that Grande Prairie has lost five of six series since 2011-12 when tied 1-1 after two games. Grande Prairie, which broke the streak after defeating Fort St. John earlier this playoff season, had won the first four series they were involved in when tied after two games in their NPHL history.
Since 1998-99, Grande Prairie is 7-6 in series when tied 1-1 after two games, while Falher is 5-3.
Grande Prairie History when Tied 1-1 Since 1998-99:
– 2005-06 – Defeated Fort St. John in Quarter-Final.
– 2005-06 – Defeated Peace River in Semi-Final.
– 2007-08 – Defeated High Prairie in Quarter-Final.
– 2009-10 – Defeated Lakeland in Final.
– 2010-11 – Lost to Horse Lake in Quarter-Final.
– 2011-12 – Defeated Hythe in Quarter-Final.
– 2011-12 – Defeated Spirit River in Semi-Final.
– 2011-12 – Lost to Falher in Final.
– 2012-13 – Lost to Spirit River in Semi-Final.
– 2014-15 – Lost to Spirit River in Final.

Overall, when coming the two teams’ records, GP and FAL are a combined 12-9.
The bottom line? It’s either team’s series to win.
