The Fort St. John Flyers are on an historic run of futility as far as their power play unit is concerned.
After last night’s game, FSJ has set a club record by not scoring a PPG in five straight games.
Since joining the NPHL in 2004-05, FSJ never went four games in a row without a PPG. Here is a rundown of their longest season streaks per season:
2004-05 – 2 games.
2005-06 – 1 game.
2006-07 – 1 game.
2007-08 – 2 games.
2008-09 – 1 game.
2009-10 – 2 games.
2010-11 – 2 games
2011-12 – 2 games.
2012-13 – 2 games.
2013-14 – 1 game.
2014-15 – 3 games (twice)
2015-16 – 1 game.
2016-17 – 2 games.
2017-18 – 2 games.
FSJ’s last PPG was scored by Joey Massingham in the second period of a game Nov. 30 that saw FSJ defeat visiting GP 5-4. Since then, FSJ has missed on 26 straight PP chances:
1 – at home vs GP [rest of the game] on Nov. 30.
6 – at home vs FAL Dec. 1.
7 – at GP on Dec. 8.
4 – at DC Dec. 13.
5 – at home vs MAN Dec. 15.
3 – at home vs DC Dec. 20.
