[Reposted with correction – PP goals and chances corrected]
Five different Dawson Creek Canucks scored in a 5-2 victory over the Manning Comets Saturday, Nov. 17.
DC, who remained perfect with three straight wins to start the season, led 3-0 after one period. The Comets closed the gap to 3-2 in the second period before a late second period goal from Matt Schmerund restored a two-goal lead.
Jeff Taylor added a third period goal.
Manning goaltender Braden Gamble was outstanding in the net once again, stopping 48 of 53 shots.
The win gave DC a season sweep over the Comets, who already won 3-1 in MAN Nov. 10.
The game was played at a neutral site in Fairview, but counted as a DC home game. Fairview has not hosted a regular season NPHL game since Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 when Fairview defeated High Prairie 10-9 in a shootout. It will be the first regular season NPHL game in Fairview in 2,850 days.
DC is now 9-1 all-time in home games vs MAN.
