Canucks blast Pirates to remain perfect

The Dawson Creek Canucks won their second straight game to start the season after blasting the hometown Falher Pirates 12-3.
Nine different Canucks scored in the win. It was the most goals DC ever scored in a game vs FAL, and the first time DC had scored at least 10 goals in a game at FAL.
DC won despite being outshot 52-38.
Wes Shipton, Brett Norman and Owen Leclare each scored twice to pace the DC attack while Trevor Dahlen, Kole Norris, Kevin Swales, Matt Schmermund, Liam Craig, and Dolan Bjoronson added singles. Norman also added three assists.

DC led 3-1 after one period and blew the game open with six straight second period goals to lead 9-1.
Morgan MacLean scored twice to lead FAL while Darren Kramer added the other goal.
DC is now 5-3 all-time in FAL.
In a statistical oddity, DC’s first six goals drew only one assist, and eight goals overall. Three other goals were unassisted. Only one DC goal drew two assists.
DC’s Owen Laclare and FAL’s Darren Brochu each face a one-game suspension for a fight with 2:04 left in the game. Any player involved in a fight in the last 10 minutes of the third period is automatically suspended.
